Weekend Sailing Courses with San Juan Sailing
Come learn the art of sailing in the beautiful San Juan Islands! You can achieve Bareboat Certification over three weekends. After you have completed all three courses, you would be certified through the American Sailing Association to charter/skipper a boat up to 40 feet anywhere in the world! We limit our classes to just 4 students, so there is plenty of hands-on learning, and all of your instruction takes place aboard one of our beautifully maintained 31-45 foot sailing yachts. For the first course, you’ll go out into Bellingham Bay and overnight at perhaps Inati Bay on Lummi Island…on the other side of the Bay (about 7 miles from Bellingham). The next two courses will likely overnight at beautiful Sucia Island. The weekend courses are ideal if you are not able to get away for a week. The tuition for Basic Sailing/ASA 101 class is $425. Basic Coastal Cruising/ASA 103 tuition is $395. Bareboat Charter Certification/ASA 104 is $375. Purchase all three courses at the same time for $950- a savings of $245!
Meeting Up Instructions
Weekend courses begin at 9:00 am on the Saturday that your course begins. You'll sleep aboard the boat out in the San Juan Islands and return to Bellingham by 5:00 pm, Sunday.
